![]() ![]() I see a lot of you are suggesting PFsence, any idea how do I use it as a firewall and gateway but not a router. As options I saw ipfire, PFsence, sophos xg home(looks awesome but may not work for me as I have some business thing going on) or any thing else out there I don't know about. I am looking for a free options as I looked at some paid ones even the cheapest one is something I don't want to pay for $1500 for 3 years. Which firewall would you suggest which will work best in this situation for me. Recently I have been seeing a lot of botnet attacks on my mail servers so I am thinking of putting a firewall between the isp and the router making the firewall work as a bridge or I can use it as a gateway for internet in my network. I host my own mail servers and also my wife runs a small business so she hosts her website.Ĭurrently I have a EdgeRouter 4 in my network taking care of all the routing needs and it works great with no problem for me. I have a small server setup with a few vlans for my network. ![]() r/HomeNetworking - Simpler networking advice. r/pfsense - for all things pfsense ('nix firewall) Might be able to find things useful for a lab. r/hardwareswap - Used hardware, swap hardware. r/buildapcsales - For sales on building a PC r/linux - All flavors of Linux discussion & news - not for the faint of heart!
